The Glory of Thebes

The city of Luxor, also the ancient city of Thebes; houses about one-third of the ancient world’s monuments. As a UNESCO Heritage, it is indeed an inspiration to the Greek kings who named another Thebes back home, where the Roman emperors accompanied their queens on much like journeys to wander the city’s glorious monuments.

Temple of Luxor: Next, you will be guided by your Egyptologist through the strikingly graceful Temple of Luxor, which once was connected to Karnak via the Avenue of Sphinxes, approximately 3 kilometers in length. Built in 1380 BC by Amenhotep III, the site was added to by other pharaohs later down the history; predominantly Ramses II.
